The amount of downtime depends on the type of laser and the depth of the treatment. Deep treatments like Sciton Contour TRL require 2 to 4 weeks of downtime for your skin to heal, while gentler devices, like our HALO laser in Algona, only require 3 to 5 days.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss the approximate timeline for recovery and how long healing will take.
Depending on the type of laser and the depth of the treatment, you can expect to see results anywhere from 5 days to a few weeks. Laser skin resurfacing improves your skin’s health, texture, and tone by removing dead layers of skin and stimulating new cell growth.

For gentler lasers, like our HALO laser in Algona, a topical medication will successfully prevent discomfort. However, for deeper treatments, a topical medication may not reach deep enough to be effective. In these cases, we’ll also use a nerve block to make sure our patients experience painless skin revitalization.
